Short stories exploring drama, mystery and local myth.
Sydney, 1959.
Eileen Marsh vanishes. A drama student at the University of Sydney, her case produces little beyond conflicting statements.
Behind the scenes, words are hushed around her last performance, and the secrets in the pages of a certain hidden play.
Decades pass and records fade. But in some corners, memories linger longer that written word.
And what was once buried stirs again.
Calling for Writers
This project takes the form of a short story collection developed by emerging writers and will be developed with research support from members of the Sydney University Dramatic Society (SUDS).
Our aim is to develop an original mythology of the Inner West, using real theatre history and practice as its foundation.
We’re inviting emerging writers to enter this shared mythology from various angle and styles. Details on scope, timelines, and remuneration will be shared with interested contributors.
No need for a formal pitch. Just let us know you’re intrigued.
